That is why we offer a 6-Month Limited Warranty on all our premium sheepskin products, starting from the date of original delivery.
This Limited Warranty covers manufacturing defects and faults in craftsmanship under normal, indoor residential use.
Specifically, this warranty covers:
- Unraveling or tearing of seams (if the rug consists of joined pieces).
- Major structural defects in the leather backing present at the time of purchase.
Because sheepskin is a natural material, it responds to how it is used and cared for. This Limited Warranty explicitly does not cover damage resulting from:
- Improper Cleaning & Care: Any damage caused by machine washing, tumble drying, improper spot cleaning, or the use of harsh chemicals, bleach, or non-wool specific detergents.
- Heat Damage: Stiffening, shrinking, or cracking of the leather backing caused by exposure to direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, hair dryers, tumble dryers, underfloor heating) or prolonged direct sunlight.
- Normal Wear and Tear: Including the natural flattening of wool over time, matting from heavy foot traffic, or normal shedding.
- Natural Variations: Slight differences in wool density, texture, pelt shape, or natural shading/yellowing over time are inherent characteristics of natural sheepskin and are not considered defects.
- Accidents & Misuse: Stains from spills, food, or pets; damage caused by pets (chewing, scratching); or physical damage (cuts, burns, tears) not resulting from faulty craftsmanship.
- Odors: The absorption of environmental odors (e.g., cooking, smoke, pets) after the rug has been unboxed.
If you believe your YikHome rug has a manufacturing defect covered by this warranty, please follow these steps:
- Contact our customer care team at info@yikhome.com.
- Provide your original order number (e.g., YH-10045) and the name under which the order was placed.
- Include clear, well-lit photographs illustrating the suspected defect.
- Provide a brief description of the issue and how the rug has been cared for since purchase.
Our quality control team in Ontario, CA, will review your claim. If the defect is determined to be a valid manufacturing fault, YikHome will, at our sole discretion, either:
- Provide a replacement of equal or comparable value.
- Issue a partial or full store credit.
